RIP Ronnie James Dio

Dio passed away this morning. I didn't know his music well. He was a little guy but his vocals could burn down an entire house. Also anyone who decides to fill Ozzy's vocal shoes deserves your respect. Please hold up goat horns of sadness up today.

RIP: Peter Steele of Type O Negative

Peter Steele of Brooklyn-based Type O Negative died of heart failure yesterday of heart failure (Only Age 48). I was never a huge fan but I respected them and they were a band that gained popularity during my youth. RIP. One of the deepest and unique voices in metal.

Sad or Awesome: I'm Still A Redneck

At age 32, I'm still an Indian redneck. I got Megadeth's Angry Again in my head. Which led me to youtube to listen to that song. Then of course I had to listen to other thrashterpieces of my youth. Pantera in particular meant a lot to me. This was always a great gym song to hear. Try to feel down after listening to this.

My friend Ameet made me aware that a new Wilco album is coming out, apparently called "Wilco." Good spring time and summer time music. Haven't heard them since Foxtrot.

New Amsterdam: Nadia Sirota

I really enjoyed hearing Nadia Sirota at Galapagos the other day. It was part of a New Amsterdam showcase. Apparently the cool kids call it Indie Classical. I wonder if that's what Salieri used to call Mozart as a pejorative back in the day?
